Dive to the Danube riverbed (2025)
Exhibition at ARTs of Change Festival, Ars Electronica, Linz
Zekő Sebesy and Jacob Bartmann's installation makes the hidden structure of the Danube riverbed perceptible. Sounds generated from sonar data let visitors “dive” through the river via buttons. Four clay objects with water sensors influence the sound depending on the water level, which slowly changes due to the porous material. Two interactive buttons allow direct input. The work offers a new, sensory way to experience the river beyond its technical function
Clay Light Sound is an ongoing project resulting from a collaboration between the two artists Jacob Bartmann and Zekő Sebesy. The artists met through an Austrian exchange program between art universities that focused on sustainable, transformative art production. Visual artist Jacob Bartmann and musician Zekő Sebesy jointly presented the live performance Clay Light Sound as part of Arts of Change on January 28, 2023, at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. A performance of a modified version of the piece, featuring percussionist David Prkno, took place on November 16, 2023, at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.
The project is continuously evolving, and thanks to the two artists’ thirst for research, new collaborative approaches are constantly being discovered.
