Memory (2023)

coiled woodfired stoneware, moulded porcelain

4 single Objects: hight 40cm, diameter 21-26cm

‘Memory’ is an installation that explores the intricate relationship between nature, human culture and the presence of the urgency of overcoming climate and social crises.

A storage is a place that stores material and immaterial objects. It can be naturally grown such as the storage of carbon emissions in forests and organisms, ice as storage of water or the storage of minerals in the soil.

The four storages that make up this installation oscillate between the certain and the uncertain.

The reservoirs serve as conservators of time, the past and the speculative future.

The work argues about the necessity of sustainable, culturally rich and responsible practices in a time characterized by uncertainty ecological and social turbulence.
